Adoption

Placement Orders

A Placement Order is an Order made by the court granting Social Services permission to identify a suitable adoptive placement for your child/ren.  The court will only revoke a Placement Order once made if there has been a significant change to your circumstances, such that you are now able to care for your child/ren.

Adoption Order

Once your child/ren are placed for Adoption with an adoptive family, Social Services or the proposed adoptive parents can apply to the Courts for an Adoption Order.   Once an Adoption Order is made the adopters will become the child/ren’s legal parents.

THESE CAN BE COMPLEX PROCEEDINGS AND YOU SHOULD NOT DELAY SEEKING LEGAL ADVICE.
